SynTech Bioenergy Appoints Chris Guay as Chief Process and Projects Scientist
Chicago, IL — January 11, 2026 — SynTech Bioenergy, a leader in advanced renewable energy and carbon negative bioenergy solutions, today announced the appointment of Chris Guay as Chief Process and Projects Scientist. Guay has over 25 years of experience in the renewable fuels and energy industry and has a proven track record of developing commercial production processes and facilities. He joins SynTech at a pivotal moment as the company accelerates deployment of its BioMax® and LiquiMax® systems and strengthens its position as a provider of carbon negative, waste-to-energy solutions.
Guay’s career includes serving as the Director of Research and Development for American Biodiesel Inc.. He oversaw the design, permitting, and construction of a 10 million gallon per year biodiesel production facility and adjacent fuel distribution terminal, established the onsite quality control laboratory, and secured and managed grant-supported projects with Federal and State funding agencies. He has established independent consulting companies in California and Hawaii and worked as a consultant for SynTech for over 10 years prior to joining the company as a full-time employee. He has also served as a part-time chemistry lecturer at several two-year and four-year colleges, including the University of California, Davis, California State University, East Bay, Laney College, and the University of Hawaii. Guay holds PhD and MS degrees in Chemical Oceanography from Oregon State University and a BS degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Davis. He was selected as a postdoctoral fellow of the NOAA Climate and Global Change Program and performed his postdoctoral research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

Guay’s responsibilities will include driving the design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation for multiple projects currently under development.
